Malintzin, stereotypical character of women in Mexico from the Viceroyalty to the 21st century

This article seeks to establish a relationship between the social construct of the stereotype of women in Mexico and the character of the Mexican story Malintzin; who is constituted as a national, living and vulnerable symbol of the feminine in the Mexican national collective thought throughout the history of the nation. To do this, it begins with a historical reflection of the context in which Malintzin lived, continues with a description of what Malintzin represented in the 20th century, and ends by exposing what is happening in our current society. Likewise, it is invited to make a final reflection on what would be required for all citizens, in each of the areas, to have the same opportunities.
