Sellado inmediato de dentina: una revisión de la literatura

Resumen

En el transcurso de los procedimientos de odontología restauradora, la exposición de los túbulos dentinarios es inevitable, lo que puede ocasionar microfiltración bacteriana durante la etapa de provisionalización. Por esta razón, se introdujo el concepto del sellado inmediato de dentina, que además de crear una capa híbrida en el tejido dentinario recién tallado, reduce la sensibilidad postoperatoria y aumenta la fuerza de unión con la restauración definitiva. Objetivo: la finalidad de esta revisión bibliográfica es analizar la literatura especializada sobre el SID para obtener un manuscrito que explique conceptos, protocolos e interacciones. Materiales y métodos: se realizó una búsqueda y selección artículos relacionados con el SID en un período de tiempo comprendido desde el año 2010 hasta 2023, utilizando bases de datos especializadas. Resultados: después de realizada la búsqueda, se seleccionaron 19 artículos que tenían como foco de estudio el SID. Todo tipo de estudio que no estuviera en conflicto con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión fue tomado en cuenta. Esto incluye investigaciones in vitro, ensayos clínicos, revisiones de literatura y revisiones sistemáticas. Conclusiones: se determinó que SID puede otorgar ventajas durante la cementación de restauraciones ya que 13 de los 19 artículos (68,42%) demostraron evidencia que recomienda el uso del SID sobre el protocolo usual. Sin embargo, se necesitan más estudios en sujetos vivos.
