Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: odontogenic diseases are conditions that not only compromise the oral cavity but may also extend to other organs, including the eyes. Such dissemination can result in ocular inflammatory processes, most notably uveitis, facilitated by anatomical relationships and vascular connections. This pathology is emphasized due to the limited research currently available. Objective: to describe the relationship between dental infections and uveitis. Methodology: a narrative literature review was conducted, focusing on case reports and descriptive observational studies, both crosssectional and retrospective, published between 2012 and 2025 in Spanish and English. Conclusion: evidence indicates that oral infections can serve as infectious foci for ocular diseases such as uveitis. This underscores the close link between oral and ocular health, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment to prevent severe complications.
