Fue Chris Argyris quien en los años 60 elaboró sus ideas pioneras sobre aprendizaje organizacional. Sin embargo, las mismas permanecieron en las sombras de espacios académicos privilegiados, y mimetizadas en prácticas de capacitación empresarial de círculos reducidos.
