Transcendence and influence in the jazz of the composition "I Got Rhythm" of George Gershwin

The present research tries to demonstrate the importance of I Got Rhythm that was composed by George Gershwin for the musical Girl Crazy in 1930, the importance it had to become a preconceived form in jazz, for all the evolutions and harmonic advances to which it has been subjected through these eighty-five years, the innumerable compositions that emerged from it, taking its same harmonic sequence and changing only the melody. This process was later called contrafact, the significance of some musicians such as Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie in developing this compositional technique was considerable. I Got Rhythm was the foot to develop the “song form” of 32 measures and increase innumerable harmonic sequences that denoted in countless new Jazz Tunes and also Jazz Standard.
