Abstract

Nowadays, Ecuadorian music has recovered its value and it is performed and listened by people of all ages whether they are professionals or amateurs. Accordion’s interpretation has been revalued. Today, in the Ecuadorian orchestras, it is common to observe again the performance of this traditional instrument that prevails over others and it is preferred by people of all ages. For this reason, through this brief investigation we want to pay homage to the precursors of Ecuadorian folk music on accordion and also to expose the current situation of this instrument.
