Artistic work: is teaching a good career option for artists?

Abstract

The following work presents an analytical description of the artistic work of those who have training in the arts; whether in formal, non-formal and informal education; about the work field in which they work, noting that currently the majority of artists in Ecuador are dedicated to activities outside their profession due to the limited job offer in the artistic field that exists in the country, which is due to a little dissemination of artistic practices by the State and its representatives. Faced with this, the possibilities of teaching in Cultural and Artistic Education within schools and/or schools arise as a clear job possibility that does not separate the artist from art; rather that it strengthens its practice in conjunction with the strengthening of art in basic education and high school students, confronting the artist teacher with the new educational challenges in terms of teaching and the role of the teacher that must play as a mediator between art and student.
