Dos rosas y un jazmín: a possibility of research to create from autofictional dramaturgy

Abstract

This article reflects on the research and creative writing experience of Dos rosas y un jazmín with a focus on autofictional dramaturgy proposing a path-format to write a play based on the author´s life. The project was born from the researcher´s need to respond to intimate questions about his family through dramatic writing. The methodology used was autoethnography applying the functions of autofiction and formats of dialogues and monologues to the structure of the play. The result was a dramaturgy of fragmentation, composed of twenty-six scenes, with an interdisciplinary format that led the author-narrator-character to answer his initial question: can one investigate and obtain answers with a play? This project led the author to the adventure of language, where the limits of fiction and reality were suspended.
