Children's Participatory Theater: An Educating Art
Abstract
Children's Participatory Theater is a proposal from the experience of theater in education that proposes a revision of the type of school we want. Also, it seeks to explore oral narration as a new expanded representation focused on the participation of children and teachers in the school. Through the story, a joint creation is generated where the spontaneous gesture prevails, relationships, improvisation, and other forms of communication are stimulated to the maximum. This proposal is innovative in the sense in which it transforms the space of the classroom, called here empty space, and it is there where a place of freedom for the self-knowledge of the child and the infantile expressive exploration is opened. Thus, the aim is to unite theater and pedagogy with the conviction that this "educating art" can contribute a lot to the classroom by enriching the internal world of children.
