Abstract

Traveling on foot immerses us in a slower temporal dimension and sets our body in motion, sharpening our perceptual ability. Following the footsteps of Matsuo Bashô, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Sylvain Tesson we will show how the journey on foot allows us to discover our inner world in a renewed relationship with the outer space. This makes us experience the magic in everyday life, as Georges Perec suggests, so as the enormous creative potential that harbors our body condition as the anthropologist David Le Breton reiterates.
