Inequality and domination: the play of art in social space

Abstract

This paper starts from the idea that the world rests on notions of inequality and domination, a phrase which, if repeated so often, normalises the way in which the unequal distribution of capital is presented while displacing any critical questioning of asymmetrical power relations, turning the phrase into mere discourse. Thus, it is easy to establish associations between various activities, disciplines, groups of people or ideas with notions of inequality and domination, deployed and embedded in the living spaces of human beings.
