Review: A note on Donald Judd. Projecting with Space, Between Art and Architecture, by Pablo Llamazares Blanco (2025)
Abstract
Reading Donald Judd: Designing with Space, Between Art and Architecture (2025) leads us down a meticulous and invaluable path, rich in detail. Essentially, the book is a spatial analysis of the work of Donald Judd, a mythical figure of Minimalist Art, who, like few others, expanded the techniques of sculpture into the architectural and urban realm. To interpret his work, this research combines a solid theoretical framework with graphic methodologies (plans, sections, axonometric drawings) characteristic of late 20th-century architecture, all seasoned with judicious criticism and vivid prose.
