The aim of this research is to make a diagnosis of the Popular and Solidarity Economy (EPS) of Ecuador that serves to propose a referential framework of a Community Economy. A bibliographic research methodology is applied with secondary and tertiary sources, and a literature review of concepts and definitions of economics, especially those different from traditional economic thought. Evidence of progress in EPS is found and the conceptual framework of a Community Economy for the agricultural sector of Ecuador is proposed. Agricultural EPS grew 177% between 2012 and 2021, and 3.8% between 2019 and 2021 despite the crisis caused by the global pandemic.
