Local migration and its impact on regional and national development

Abstract

Migration has been seen as a problem for decades. However the issue provided also a solution for the country’s economy due to send remittances. Since the new Ecuadorian constitution of 2008, human mobility is seen as a right of the people and state policies are established to invite migrants to return to their country as part of a new development process.
