IN TRANSFORMATIONAL AND TRANSACTIONAL LEADERSHIP WHO IS INVOLVED MORE: MEN OR WOMEN?
Abstract
Full range leadership theory is one of the most commonly used, its purpose is to change reality, as the leader of tomorrow should generate changes. In this context, this paper analyzes the internal variability of the dimensions of the full range leadership theory according to gender, measuring various times through Multifactorial Leadership Questionnaire - MLQ applied to a group of leaders in a training program. The results, in the self-assessments of men and women, show no significant differences in transformational leadership style, in general; however, at individual level significant changes occur in the internal dimension: individualized consideration. With regard to transactional leadership style, women show significant differences in general level, and there is a significant trend, at the individual level, active management by exception for men. These results are discussed in terms of previous research throughout the article.
