To resist is to live
Abstract
The global situation of mining is a permanent conflict. Beyond producing wealth for nations, this activity leaves pollution, social dismantling, poverty, and indebtedness. The principal concern is pollution of water, an essential element for human beings, and the loss of water sources, regarding the operation of gold extractivist companies. Communities and social movements are continually boosting and increasing efforts for water defense.
Keywords: Mining, Water, Gold, Social movements, extractivism.
