Participation and planning: tools for strengthening disabled people's organisations (DPOs)
Abstract
The University of Cuenca, through the Organisational Accompaniment for Development Programme (ACORDES) and the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES) in 2009, implemented a social intervention project called "Strengthening of the Disability Network System SIREDIS", with the aim of strengthening a group of 32 organisations of People with Disabilities (PWD) and their supporters. Through the bibliographic review we will sequentially narrate the importance of participation and planning in the strengthening of organisations working for PWDs, with a view to continuing with these participatory processes to achieve the inclusion of PWDs in the full exercise of their rights.
