Conservative neoliberalism and reformist social democracy
Abstract
In the current political situation in several Latin American countries and Ecuador, there is a political and electoral dispute between political currents and parties that claim two different models of capitalism, namely: a neoliberal model, ideologically characterized as conservative or right-wing; and a Keynesian or “social democratic” model, ideologically characterized as “center-left” or even “left”, although with conceptual rigor it should be qualified as a reformist or center model.
