  • Maskana

    MASKANA was established with the aim of offering academic staff a platform for the publication of their research and the dissemination of results in various areas of knowledge. MASKANA, a Quechua word meaning 'search', is the scientific journal managed by the Research Department of the University of Cuenca. Its first issue was published in the second semester of 2010 and has two editions per year. Since 2014, the journal also publishes special editions such as conference and/or congress proceedings.

  • Revista de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca

    La revista de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca (Ecuador), es una revista científica publica dos números cada año de forma semestral, correspondientes a los meses de enero ​​y julio. Recibe colaboraciones de investigadores, docentes, profesionales y estudiantes relacionados con cualquier área de la Odontología. Los trabajos deben ser originales y no deben estar sometidos a otros procesos de publicación en otras revistas. La revista publica artículos originales, artículos de revisión, informes de caso y ensayos clínicos.

    Visualizamos como destinatarios de Revista IURIS a diversidad de comunidades científicas y filosóficas, inspiradas por enfoques también variados, como son los feminismos, la pluralidad jurídica y la interseccionalidad, en los campos y áreas de conocimiento del derecho y las ciencias políticas y sociales. Se pretende, entonces, que nuestro público refuerce su identificación con corrientes de pensamiento crítico y procesos de reflexión, que combinen las perspectivas de disciplinariedad, multidisciplinariedad, interdisciplinariedad y transdisciplinariedad, que el derecho, el trabajo social, la orientación familiar y el género, requieren para sus proyecciones de investigación y práctica profesional.

    En tal virtud, motivamos a que nuestros lectores sientan que la revista comparte escenarios para el diálogo político y epistemológico; de ahí que, nuestros espacios motiven  una lectura interactiva, con comentarios y recomendaciones a implementarse en los artículos.

    Por último, la revista cuenta con una instancia para hacer los respectivos registros y así recibir, en forma digital, los distintos números que publiquemos.

  • Economy and Politics Journal

    Economía y Política Journal is a scientific publication of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Cuenca, whose objective is to stimulate the debate on socioeconomic phenomena at the subnational level, that is, at the regional and city level. Consequently, it has a pluralistic and multidisciplinary approach, including original quantitative, qualitative and mixed studies that address economic, political, social, institutional and environmental dimensions. Papers on Latin America are particularly welcome.

    ESTOA. Journal of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Cuenca (e-ISSN: 1390-9274), is a half-yearly publication, in the periods January-June and July-December. It is established, from the year 2012, as a platform dedicated to the exploration of the architecture and the urbanism in its linkage with the academic and professional world, the university and the society.

    The Journal of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca is a quarterly publication with blind arbitration by academic peers and that observes bioethical regulations for manuscripts in the health area. Partial or total reproduction is authorized, citing the source. The opinion of the authors does not represent the opposition of the Faculty of Medical Sciences or the Editorial Committee. The Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca maintains its commitment to publishing its journal online and in full text. Its diffusion is free

  • Revista Pucara

    PUCARA, revista de Humanidades y Educación (ISSN-e 2661-6912) fundada en 1977 es una publicación bianual de la Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Cuenca, Ecuador. Desde la publicación del primer número, PUCARA difunde investigaciones de las diferentes manifestaciones de la cultura y la sociedad, desde perspectivas literarias, históricas, filosóficas, antropológicas, arqueológicas y educativas, en los ámbitos ecuatoriano, iberoamericano y mundial. Se constituye en un espacio de diálogo e intercambio académico, que convoca a expertos nacionales y extranjeros para presentar sus trabajos (investigaciones, ensayos, creaciones literarias, reseñas y entrevistas) originales escritos en español, inglés y portugués. 

    PUCARA, desde su creación, ha reflejado la misión humanista de la Universidad de Cuenca, abordando las tensiones sociales, culturales y políticas de América Latina. Las Humanidades, fundamentales para la educación y la dignidad humana, enfrentan retos ante la creciente tecnocratización de las universidades y la mercantilización del conocimiento. Además, asume el desafío de revitalizar las Humanidades y la Educación como herramientas para formar ciudadanos críticos, éticos y comprometidos con la transformación social y el desarrollo sostenible.

    PUCARA no recibe tarifa alguna durante todo el proceso editorial para la publicación de los diferentes textos incluyendo la revisión efectuada por pares ciegos (sistema doble ciego), la maquetación y la publicación, es decir, no existe cuota, ni pago, por parte de los autores y el acceso a su contenido es completamente libre y gratuito. Su sostenimiento económico es asumido en su totalidad por la Universidad de Cuenca, a través del Vicerrectorado de Investigación e Innovación.

    La abreviatura de su título es Pucara Ec., que debe ser usado en bibliografías, notas al pie de página, leyendas y referencias bibliográficas.

  • Revista de Investigación y Pedagogía del Arte

    Refereed scientific journal, published every six months. Its thematic coverage covers the areas of art research and pedagogy, without restriction of any manifestation. Its objective is to socialize scientific and didactic productions in these two areas of knowledge, from not only disciplinary, but also inter-, multi- and transdisciplinary visions of art in the complex world of culture, society and education of the 21st century. It publishes in the formats of scientific article, research-creation article, didactic planning article and didactic foundation article for the handling of original visual/sound/audiovisual productions in class, for which purpose it has its own channel on YouTube. Their articles are submitted to double-blind arbitration by specialized academic peers; and they address a broad community of professionals in the world of art and educational practice; especially from the Spanish-speaking community, for sharing contexts and facing related sociocultural problems.

    Tsantsa. Revista de Investigaciones artísticas (ISSN: 1390-8448) is an annual academic electronic publication launched by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca (Ecuador). Tsantsa is a research platform aimed at exploring culture from aspects related to visual arts, design, performing arts and music, within the framework of contemporary society and aesthetics.

  • ACORDES

    The journal Acordes(ISSN: 2737-6001), belonging to the research, intervention and training group ACORDES ( Organizational Accompaniment to Development), of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Cuenca (Ecuador).
    The journal Acordes has been published since 2001 and has addressed social issues in socio-political, socio-organizational, socio-environmental and socio-economic aspects.
     
    The general objective of the publication is to disseminate the results, share knowledge and lessons learned from research and intervention projects carried out by the ACORDES Group at the local, regional and national levels, as well as the work of lecturers, researchers and national and international experts. The journal seeks to publish original manuscripts in Spanish, Portuguese and English, focused mainly on the following lines:

    - Strengthening and socio-organizational culture.
    - Democracy, commitment and participation.
    - Social and Solidarity Economy / Social Entrepreneurship / Eco-feminism / Alternatives to Development / Education for Development
    - Environmental Sustainability / Food Sovereignty / Climate Change.
