A critical look at the sanitary educational discourse of healthy lifestyles.
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Some reflections that question the hegemonic paradigm of the discourse of healthy lifestyles-HL- are presented historically in the development of educational actions in health, in order to raise from the critical Epidemiology and Pedagogy some clues for the construction of an analytical model from the Social Determination of Health that broadens the approach of this theoreticalpractical category and allows the development of emancipatory pedagogical proposals. The critical proposal conceptualizes lifestyles as more specific and singular processes in the space of the micro, in a permanent dialectical relationship with the meso (particular) and macro (general) levels of reality. In this sense, although they are related to the behavioral aspects, they are not considered static or predetermined, they do not depend exclusively on the "free will" of the subjects, they are not disconnected nor are they part of an absolute and fragmented diversity; they are the expression of the ways of life of the particular groups in which people are inserted socially and embody particular ways of being and behaving towards their health.
Keywords: Healthy Lifestyle, Epidemiologic Factors, Health Education.
