Introduction: Patients with connective tissue diseases (CTD) may present various forms of pulmonary hypertension (PH), and it is currently recognized that inflammatory processes play a crucial role in their development and progression.
Clinical case: This is a case of a 19-year-old woman with progressive dyspnea since 2019. On physical examination, heart murmurs are heard: in the aortic (II/VI) and tricuspid (I/VI) foci. Laboratory studies report positive ANA 1/320 with fine granular pattern, Anti-Ro >300 and SSA >200. Cardiac catheterization revealed severe pulmonary arterial hypertension, venocapillary hypertension.
Conclusions: CTD affects each patient individually, especially in their cardiovascular and respiratory systems, although it can present symptoms of dryness and arthralgia in a Sjögren's syndrome associated with PH.
