Digital Preservation Policies

Revista de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas is committed to the long-term preservation of all its content, including past and present editions. To ensure the conservation of published articles, the journal implements the following strategies:

• Institutional Repositories: All journal content is securely stored in the digital repositories of the University of Cuenca, ensuring permanent access and availability.
• Platform Storage: As a complementary measure, the journal's files are backed up on storage platforms such as the Open Journal System (OJS) and its PKP-PN preservation tool.
• LOCKSS System: The journal uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which enables the creation of a distributed archive among collaborating libraries. This system ensures permanent preservation and content restoration in case of loss or damage, following international digital preservation standards.

These policies ensure that the articles published in the journal remain accessible to future generations of researchers, contributing to the advancement and continuity of scientific knowledge.
