An autoethnographic approach to a corporal artistic practice

Autoethnography constitutes a new and growing methodological strategy in Latin America, given its specificity for dealing with phenomena related to corporality and artistic experiences. However, the circulation of texts in Spanish with specific approaches from this perspective is still insufficient. This article offers an autoethnographic approach to a corporal artistic practice, outlining the potential of this methodology. The text is based on research results from my doctoral thesis and focuses specifically on the description of a Contact Improvisation dance class in Argentina. It also makes observations on the dance and reflects on the need to deepen the socialization of autoethnographic approaches, in order to strengthen the development of creative methodological designs in Latin America.
