Lojan Lyre and Feather Festival (1963-1977)

This article aims to reconstruct the Festival de la Lira y la Pluma Lojanas from the music and its protagonists, with emphasis on the category of composition and how it influenced the contribution to the cultural development of Loja. From unpublished primary sources taken from the Tabango-Espinoza family archive and from some scores found in the Library of the "Salvador Bustamante Celi" School of Arts in the city of Loja, a reflection on the event and its repercussion as a social fact that involves the members of a community, who share this historical musical trajectory as part of their Lojan cultural identity, is proposed.
