We are going to start this Imagoteca, or project of order and classification for your consultation of works analyzed according to the presuppositions of generative semiotics, with the analysis of two works by the genius Henri Matisse belonging to his research on dance: "The Dance of Stschoukine" (1909-1910) and "The Barnes dance" (1932-1933).
We will approach the analysis of both works according to the theoretical assumptions of the French semiologist A.J. Greimas, we will explain the configurations of meaning that are produced through the global and oriented reading of each plastic text, to show the syntagmatic organization and the reading order determined by the associations themselves and their anaphoric jumps.
This second discourse regarding the figurative, will end up revealing the deep structure of the meaning of each work and its different mythical structure. We will compare the redundant semi-symbolic systems of both works, to identify different possibilities of expression about dance in the Imagoteca.
Keywords: Imagoteca, dance, plastic language, Greimasian semiotics, mythical structure.
