Art, alterity, and artistic education

This presentation revisits the concepts of alterity, mediators, and art mediation in relation with the history of modern and contemporary art. Besides, it provides an approach to the community arts of the ‘60s and its influence in the collaborative and participative art in the contemporaneity of art.
These elements come together in the Cauca region with the emergence of several artist collectives from the ‘70s up to the present days. Considering the perspective of arts education in the university, it is visible the development of artistic and cultural projects by groups such as 16 de Marzo (1980), Trazo Libre (1980), Artes 2000 (1999), Precolectivo 5 (2007), Cubo Rojo (2012), Quinta Sala (2012), Colectivo 83 (2013), Monareta (2015), etc.
