The anthropological and sociological sustainability of colour in the Spanish Fashion at the beginning of the 21st century

The colour, as part of life in society, becomes a cultural index on many occasions. The concept of the sustainability of colour, is based on a transdisciplinary idea that encompasses not only the ecological viewpoint, but the anthropological, sociological, and economic aspects that influence the survival of some colours, and the disappearance of others.
In textile manufacturing, the colour acquires the significance of community, for example, on the flags or on the kits worn by certain sport teams. In Fashion, colour has become an indicator of identity and belonging, surviving silhouettes and fabrics.
This article addresses a theoretical-methodological reflection on the identity colours under the Spanish streetstyle at the beginning of the 21st century, mapping the social practices that influence durability, from the reasons for the resilience of some of these colours, until the danger of extinction that face many others.
