Unpredictability and control in the creative process of contemporary art through a co-authorship experience

The author analyses an artistic process of co-authorship, of which he was part, from the point of view of two fundamental forces in the process, control and unpredictability. There is a tension between these two forces in artistic creation. We consider that conscious, premeditated, predictable and precise acts increase control, while unpredictability, in all its different forms, reduces it. Through the study of the creative process of the work Metáforas: pegadas dun percorrido, 2021, by Alexandra R. Rey and Thomas Apostolou, the author of this text (Thomas Apostolou) considers the relationship of control and unpredictability in the contemporary creative process.
