MOICAR Methodology for Research-Creation in the Arts: A Condensed Tutorial Record
Abstract
This article presents, in a tutorial format, a methodology for research-creation in the arts, developed through the guidance of over 110 creative projects between 2021 and 2026. The presentation covers theoretical foundations, specific characteristics, conceptualization, the definition of the object of study, and the experimental method; it outlines phases, research components, and dynamics; details strategies for the written substantiation of creative achievement—whether through process narratives or outcome exegeses, employing immediate, mediate, and cognitive approaches; and addresses methodological specifics for potentially approaching the experimental process using the principles of genetic criticism. The findings demonstrate that the artistic event emerges from an artist who is imaginative, sensitive, cultured, and capable of reasoning.
