The treatment of digital evidence becomes the foundation of forensic research. For this reason, in this article we analyze the best existing practices and its application to a digital investigation process in our country. This will be the basis that supports our proposal for the correct evidence treatment and its phases: identification, collection, acquisition, and preservation.
