Professor of the Faculty of Engineering since 2000. Mauricio obtained his Informatics Engineer degree in 1998 and a Masters in Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2002, where he obtained the Alfonso Caso medal as best graduate in the Technical Sciences area. In 2014 he obtained the degree of Doctor from the University of Zaragoza in Computer Science and Systems Engineering. He has collaborated in research projects with the Ontology Engineering Group of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His field of expertise is framed in the field of the Semantic Web, to which he has contributed his doctoral thesis "Ontology Localization". His research experience focuses on the representation of data using semantic models that allow mainly integrate information from heterogeneous sources. His current field of research is the recognition and semantic representation of objects in audio and video. He is the author of scientific articles in national and international indexed journals.
