Plagiarism control

MASKANA makes use of Turnitin, a plagiarism detection service that checks the originality of submitted content before publication. The software verifies the document submitted to the journal against the content of web pages, libraries, books, and proprietary databases. Each manuscript submitted to the Editor will be checked as quickly as possible. In this process, Turnitin provides a similarity report highlighting, on one hand, the percentage of similarity based on the number of words, and on the other hand, the marking of various sections, expressions, or terms found in other documents. The MASKANA Editorial Team verifies the similarity report. The decision of whether a manuscript should be rejected due to fraud or proceed to the peer review process lies with the Editorial Team. The similarity report may also be made available to the referees.
