She completed her doctorate degree in tropical hydrochemistry and hydrobiology at the University of Giessen, Germany. In 2010 she performed political consultancy activities in acatech (German Academy of Sciences and Engineering) and the German Geoscience Research Center in the field of challenges related to climate change for German water resources. In 2012 she started working for PANGAEA - Data Publisher for Earth & Environmental Science, which is managed by the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Bremerhaven, Germany. Recently, she assumed the responsibilities of director of the 'World Radiation Monitoring Center' of the 'Baseline Surface Radiation Network', which is also managed by the AWI. Her experience covers the fields of hydrology, biology and meteorology, as well as data management.
