Hubert Van Hoof received his PhD in Public Administration from Arizona State University in 1996 and his master’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Houston in 1992. He also received a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 1982. Van Hoof lectures strategic business management to graduating seniors and strategic issues in higher education to PhD candidates. His most recent publications focus on strategic issues in hospitality business and higher education. Van Hoof has authored and co-authored over a hundred articles and publications in academic and trade publications. He reviews for numerous journals and conferences and serves on the industry advisory boards of the hospitality programs at Southwest Minnesota State University and the Universidad del Este, Puerto Rico. Hubert Van Hoof was a Visiting Professor at the International University of Applied Sciences, Bad Honnef, Germany in the Fall of 2003, was Professor and Assistant Dean at the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at Northern Arizona University (NAU) from 1991 to 2004, and is Professor of Strategic Management at the Penn State School of Hospitality Management, where he was Director from 2004-2011.
