Peer-review process

Upon receipt of a manuscript the editorial team conducts a pre-evaluation, they verify if the manuscript has not been published, if the manuscript's format and edition comply with the author's guidelines, and if the content of the manuscript is significant, in case to obtain a negative criterion in the previous points, the corresponding author is informed of how the presented manuscript could be improved. On the other hand, if the manuscript meets the minimum criteria, the manuscript is sent to at least two reviewers (strictly external to the Research Directorate or to the University o f Cuenca) for evaluation (Double Blind Peer Review Approach). Upon receipt of the reviewers' comments, a synthesis report is sent to the corresponding author.

A manuscript can be accepted with minor or major revisions, or, in the worst case, rejected. Then the authors have the right to re-submit their manuscript with the inclusion of the comments, and will be submitted again to the entire review process. The accepted manuscripts are published in the next edition after acceptance of the manuscript.
