Sustainable development: Definition and impact on environmental conservation practices

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of sustainable development and seeks to demonstrate that, despite the advantages that implies (global policy to solve the environmental problem as well as an outlet of consciousness widespread around the issue) there are problematic aspects in the definition and, especially in the implementation of actions to demand. Used as a demonstrative example the case of Ecuador who, being an underdeveloped country is obliged to meet certain environmental policies, such as respect for protected areas, which collides against the economic interests of the region. How to set policies so that the balance between the satisfaction of needs and respect for nature take place?
