Author Biography

Manuel Villavicencio, Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la EducaciónUniversidad de Cuenca

Estudios de pregrado en la Universidad de Cuenca, Magíster en Letras, mención en Literatura Hispanoamericana en la Universidad Simón Bolívar de Quito (Ecuador) y Doctorado (PhD) en Literatura Latinoamericana (Chile). Ha participado en eventos académicos sobre literatura ecuatoriana y latinoamericana en Perú, Colombia, Uruguay, Cuba, Chile, Canadá, Argentina y Estados Unidos. Ha publicado Ciudad ausente y ciudad tomada: los paradigmas del imaginario urbano en la narrativa latinoamericana (2011); Escribir en la universidad (2011); Itinerantes: escritos sobre literatura ecuatoriana y latinoamericana (2008); Ciudad, palimpsesto e ironía: las voces subterráneas en la narrativa de Dávila Vázquez; co-autor de La jerga juvenil en la ciudad de Cuenca (1998). Autor de varios artículos sobre literatura y cultura ecuatoriana y latinoamericana en revistas nacionales y extranjeras. Actualmente, es docente e investigador de la Universidad de Cuenca, Ecuador y Director del Departamento de Investigación y Posgrados de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras.
