Pathways within anthropology are much more than simple geographical means that connect points, as they are always linked to interpretations, needs, and ecologies that overlap over time, the activities carried out on them, and cultural contacts with other areas. This current work aims to recover the meanings surrounding the ancient footpaths of Sígsig Canton through the use of ethnographic methods, which allow for an assessment of the importance of traditional road networks and the development of a discourse that justifies their significance, with the aim of projecting new field research that contributes to a deeper understanding of the same.
