This research proposes that collective perceptions in society influence literary production and the creation of gender consciousness in Ecuadorian women’s literature. Literary generations are not static entities, but dynamic processes that reflect and respond to the social and political contexts of their times. Through the analysis of La explotada (1954) by Mary Corylé, Bruna, soroche y los tíos (1973) by Alicia Yánez Cossío, No perdono (2020) by Isabel Aguilar Jara, and Fiebre de Carnaval (2023) by Yuliana Ortiz Ruano, it is evident that significant changes have occurred in the representation and understanding of gender consciousness in Ecuadorian women’s literature. This process is constantly evolving, and literature continues to reflect and shape gender consciousness, responding to contemporary social and cultural realities.
