Determinantes multidimensionales de la violencia sexual: un enfoque econométrico del nexo infancia–adultez

Recientes investigaciones destacan la influencia de factores psicológicos y sociales tempranos en la configuración de la violencia sexual (VS) en la adultez. Este estudio examina el efecto de la violencia infantil en el entorno familiar y social sobre la VS contra las mujeres. Se emplearon microdatos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos de Ecuador correspondientes a 2010 (5.879 observaciones) y 2019 (12.600 observaciones), aplicando pruebas chi-cuadrado y modelos de elección discreta. Las estimaciones incluyeron coeficientes tradicionales y efectos marginales para capturar la probabilidad de victimización. Los resultados indican que las mujeres cuyas parejas experimentaron violencia en la niñez presentan entre un 11% y un 16% más probabilidad de sufrir VS. Los hallazgos evidencian que la violencia infantil constituye un predictor significativo de la agresión sexual en la adultez y refuerzan la teoría de la transmisión intergeneracional de la violencia, subrayando la necesidad de intervenciones tempranas y políticas preventivas eficaces.
