In the last decades, the economic inequality problem has taken relevance in most economies in the world. Ecuador has been no exception. In 2014, the 5% of the richest population of Ecuador concentrated 46 times the income of 5% of the poorest population. This disparity creates a serious controversy with the development principles stipulated in the ecuadorian constitution. In this context, this paper analyzes the main income sources that contributes the economic inequality in Ecuador. The data come from the Survey of Living Conditions 2013-2014.Downloads
