Relationship between quality of life related to health and socio-demographic determinants in adults of Cuenca, Ecuador

The study evaluates the quality of lif e related to healthand deter minants sociodemográcos se x, age,socioeconomic stratum and level of studies of the adultpopulation of Cuenca-Ecuador.The methodology applies a cr oss-sectional study of a sample of 280 subjects, a questionnaire was used for deter minants Sociodemográcos and the health questionnaire SF-36 to measure the perceived health. The relationship between perceived health and demographic deter minants was verified by comparing the variable in the different subgroups. The results show women with worse perceived health. The adult group scored higher than the adult group in all dimensions, except in mental health. The aver age scores of the group with pr imary studies wer e lo wer compared to those of secondary and higher studies. The educational level influences the perceived health and the socioeconomic level has an impact on the mental component and the bodily pain.
