Open access policy

This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to publications helps facilitate a broader global exchange of knowledge. The editorial team manages the inclusion of its content in catalogs, digital repositories, and databases, with the aim of enabling reuse and self-archiving of articles, following the Digital Preservation Policy for scientific journals of Universidad de Cuenca. Additionally, MASKANA is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License.

Articles published in the MASKANA journal are subject to the following terms:

Universidad de Cuenca, through its  Vice-rectorate for Research as the publishing entity, reserves the copyright of the published articles and promotes their reuse under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 4.0 license, which allows copying, use, dissemination, transmission, and public display as long as:

  • The authorship and original sources (publication name, publisher, URL, and DOI) are cited.
  • It is not used for commercial or for-profit purposes.
  • Reference is made to the validity and details of this Creative Commons license.

MASKANA assigns a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each published article.

Reader's Rights

The content of MASKANA is presented in an open format, allowing readers to access the content of each article free of charge once it has been published.

MASKANA ensures that its articles are available in reliable repositories such as Latindex, Dialnet, DOAJ, among others.
