Factores de riesgo asociados a la seroprevalencia de la brucelosis bovina en la provincia del Cañar, Ecuador
Abstract
INTRODUCCIÓN
La brucelosis bovina es una enfermedad infecto-transmisible, causada principalmente por Brucella abortus, esta bacteria es responsable inducir abortos al final de la gestación, principalmente en animales primíparas, y nacimiento de terneros débiles, adicionalmente, problemas de infertilidad, piómetras, metritis, y orquitis en machos El agente causal se transmite de manera directa e indirecta, evento en el que se asocian una serie de factores de riesgo (Cowie, Marreos, Gortázar, Jaroso, White et al., 2014; de Alencar-Mota, Ferreira, Ferreira Neto, Dias, Amaku, Grisi-Filho et al., 2016).
La brucelosis bovina es de importancia tanto por las grandes pérdidas económicas causadas al sector ganadero como por las implicaciones de su carácter zoonótico. En el humano la infección se adquiere por la manipulación de fluidos y tejidos, principalmente de los órganos reproductivos de animales infectados, también al consumir leche cruda y productos lácteos sin pasteurizar (Poster, Sanmartino, & Santos, 2013). Por lo anterior, el objetivo del presente estudio fue identificar factores de riesgo asociados a la seroprevalencia de brucelosis bovina en la provincia del Cañar.Downloads
