Guía referencial para el manejo de QoS en redes WLAN prioritizando tráfico
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The implementation of QoS policies can address various points depending on the requirements of the WLAN; for example, the allocation of bandwidth in a differentiated way, avoiding or managing congestion on the network, managing priorities according to the type of traffic, etc. As a function of the analysis of the traffic, QoS policies can be established that enable the prioritization of the traffic type (http, ftp, ssh) according to the user needs in line with the objective of the WLAN. To do this a WLAN scenario is performed without prioritization of traffic and with traffic prioritization, using an application designed to manage service quality in wireless networks: FROTTLE, software for analysis of traffic on the WLAN as ntop, wireshark, program echoping, hping3. The results obtained allow us to demonstrate the improved quality of service to prioritize traffic so that the indicators show satisfactory levels. A reference guide was developed to manage the quality of WLAN service based on a prioritization of traffic.

RESUMEN
La implementación de políticas de calidad de servicio se puede enfocar en varios puntos según los requerimientos de la WLAN, por ejemplo: asignar ancho de banda en forma diferenciada, evitar y/o administrar la congestión en la red, manejar prioridades de acuerdo al tipo de tráfico. En función del análisis de tráfico se pueden establecer políticas de calidad de servicio que permita prioritizar el tipo de tráfico (http, ftp, ssh) según las necesidades de los usuarios acorde con el objetivo de la WLAN. Para esto en una red WLAN se realiza un escenario sin prioritizar tráfico y prioritizando tráfico, se utiliza una aplicación diseñada para el manejo de calidad de servicio en redes inalámbricas; FROTTLE, software para el análisis del tráfico en la WLAN como ntop, wireshark, programa echoping, hping3. Los resultados obtenidos permiten evidenciar la mejora de calidad de servicio al prioritizar el tráfico, es así que los indicadores utilizados muestran valores satisfactorios. Se desarrolló la guía referencial para el manejo de calidad de servicio en redes WLAN a través de la prioritización de tráfico.
