Salud mental en mujeres indígenas gestantes ecuatorianas durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Aportes desde el feminismo critico

El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar las experiencias vividas por mujeres indígenas ecuatorianas en el embarazo y parto durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Las participantes fueron siete mujeres de la comunidad de San Francisco de Huarcay. La recolección de datos involucró grupos focales y entrevistas, enmarcadas en un trabajo mayor de intervención acción participativa realizado durante el primer semestre de 2024. Los relatos fueron analizados a través del análisis de contenido y permitieron interpretar: a) experiencias negativas en las interacciones de las mujeres con los servicios de salud en pandemia, caracterizadas como violencia obstétrica; b) respuestas emocionales derivadas del confinamiento y la separación familiar durante los procedimientos obstétricos; y c) procesos de bienestar emocional en aquellas mujeres que conectaron con el apoyo familiar y prácticas culturales. Se discuten los determinantes interseccionales y de inequidad de la salud mental en mujeres indígenas, que se ven exacerbados en situaciones límite.
