In contrast to the demiurgic model dominating architectural schools, this article systematizes a teaching experience oriented toward a situated, critical, and interdependent formation. The Performative Architectures Workshop at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador operationalized the tension between the conceived and the lived city through exercises of critical analysis and design speculation on Quito. Applying the systematization of experiences method, the process was critically interpreted through the workshop’s records and student interviews. The results show a verifiable pedagogical shift, from the analysis of urban problems to their re-signification through design, with the simultaneous development of critical, communicative, and ethical competencies that foster a graduate profile grounded in an ecosystemic perspective and a commitment to reality. The article concludes that the transferable contribution lies in the pedagogical translation, the sequence of exercises, and the use of graphic tools as dialogical devices for architectural mediation.
