Abstract

ABSTRACT
Social isolation represents a big issue in the aging process. This is due to the lack of contact of elderly people with their relatives, neighbors, and colleagues. It can be a consequence of health problems such as physical or cognitive constraints, or produced by facts as widowhood, retirement, and offspring leaving home. Therefore, online social networks can be considered an integration tool between different targets. However, these social networks are not oriented to elderly people, then it is important to know the improvements and characteristics to be considered for an effective use. This paper presents a tool which measures the use of certain social networks to obtain information that allows the analysis of the user behavior, to improve psychological facts and integration of the elderly people to these online communities.
Keywords: SNS, monitoring, elderly people, online social network.
