A critical stance on architecture and urbanism is constructed by presenting them as fields shaped by multiple scales, bodies of knowledge, and conflicts. The editorial of this issue articulates a vision that advocates for situated research and disciplinary transversality as responses to urgent challenges such as the climate crisis, urban inequalities, and the fragility of territorial identities. Its main strength lies in linking materiality, habitat, landscape, city, and pedagogy within an epistemological framework that questions the traditional boundaries of architectural knowledge.
